Alan Freestone was originally the sole proprietor of Uig Pottery. It is now run as a partnership between Alan and Margaret Freestone.
The workshop is in a wonderful position on the sea wall by Uig Bay and we are constantly encouraged and inspired by the tremendous views we have of sea, hills, sky and wild life.

Between May and September, we propose the "Uig Pottery Experience", where you can try pottery throwing by yourself and create wonderful items for friends and family or just yourself!

Our shop "Crocks & Rocks" is based in Portree. It is managed by Pauline, along with Mairi and Carolyn.

Alan is a skilled potter and designer. He creates the style of the pots as well as the glazes and decorations, then goes on to train his assistants carefully.
Margaret started as an administrator and shop manager. Over the last seven years, she has been trained in many aspects of the manufacturing process and now spends most of her time glazing and decorating.
Rachael is our full time assistant.
She is involved in both making and decorating the pots.
Oliver is our main thrower.
He is a very experienced potter.
